Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2009 Réserve de Léoville-Barton is quite herbaceous and earthy on the nose gradually opening up with attractive iron filing and cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, taut and fresh with a pastille like finish that just needs to evolve more complexity and personality. Give it another couple of years. A very decent second wine this year. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Round fruit to begin with and then as though it had been tightened on a string. A bit drying on the end. (JR)
